Call or visit Nature of Wood Designs, or request a free in-home or office visit to discuss your live edge furniture, modern furniture vision and view your home or business space. Maybe a sketch, or picture from a woodworker magazine would be helpful, or choose from furniture designs on our website, or others.
Determine a specie(s) that will complement or contrast room colors and decor. Walnut is dark with brown, purple, and black tones. Cherry is a lighter wood with red, orange, and tan tones. Maple is the lightest with blonde, tan, and beige tones. Select a unique slab that “speaks to you.”
At this point we work with you to specify the customization of your piece like epoxy fill, butterfly's or bowties, glass inlay and cuts or shaping necessary to accentuate nature's beauty, and designing or sourcing a base or legs (if needed) too.
Pick a desired finish for the slab from our samples. While we primarily recommend oil based finishes such as Odie's Oil or Rubio Monocoat, the options are yours - and endless.
Once all decisions have been made regarding dimensions, creative design, and finish for your piece, we will commence on the piece's build in our high-end workshop.
Finally, the big day has arrived! Your delivery date and time are pre-arranged based on your schedule and convenience. After any installation (if required), you can celebrate its elegance with family and friends, and look forward to its ageless beauty for generations to come.
